On Abe Lincoln's birthday... your thoughts on America's 1st Republican president?

I am surprised at how many people don't know that Lincoln was the GOP's first-ever President. And that the South was mostly comprised of Democrats (to this day) that opposed everything Lincoln stood for, and kept those positions for over 100 years after his ination. In fact, if RFK and JFK don't begin supporting Martin Luther King in the 60's -- the Democrats might never have gotten ONE vote from Black America. (and come to think about it, Dems haven't done too much since LBJ.. who is the 3rd best Dem President of this century after FDR and Truman).
