White smoke bellowing out of tailpipe, check engine light is on and car is riding a little rough and losing?

power what could, check engine light is on but that is it. What could be wrong? I'm going to take it for a diagnostic in a couple of days but im just really curious as to any thoughts anyone may have,before i go. Thanks alot.
