Whats it mean to be sucked in by a white light? ?

A few years ago when my grandmother died, that very same week I experienced an experience of waking up or partly waking up, and what i remember was seeing bright light with my grandma in it, with her arm out to me, if to say come with me, in addition to this, the white light was actual pulling me in and i was having to hold on for my life, also what was strange was my best friend at the time come round the next morning and asked if i was still here, because he actual witnessed what had happened with me in his sleep? did he have Subconscious link.
