Why didn't dr. maurice bucaille become a muslim?

dr. maurice bucaille was the author of''science in the quran'' and this is where almost all the science in the quran comes from. so why did he take the 4 million dollars given to him from the saud family for finding all the science in the quran and writting the book and the 4 million he got from the book sales and return to england. where he remained a roman catholic for the rest of his life. so how many find it strange that he never became a muslim?
